Devina: Healthy Meals for the Children
Devina is a dedicated mother of one of the children attending the English program. Devina runs a small restaurant in the village, where she passionately prepares delicious meals. Her restaurant is a cherished gathering place for the community, and her cooking is known for being both healthy and flavorful.
Agi Projects supports Devina by paying her to prepare lunch for the children every day. This ensures that the children receive a nutritious meal, which is essential for their development and concentration in class. At the same time, we contribute to strengthening the local community by supporting Devina's business.
James
Meet James, a vibrant and curious child from Newland village. We’ve had the pleasure of knowing him since he was just 5 years old. As he continues to grow, we look forward to seeing all the wonderful things he will accomplish!
When James was 5 years old, he started his first year of primary school. At that time, he dreamed of becoming a pilot, but he didn’t speak English, so we had a teacher to help with translations. James was very proud and excited to begin school. Eight years later, in 2024, we meet James again, now 13 years old, as he starts his first year of secondary school. His dream has changed; he now wishes to become an accountant, and he has achieved an excellent proficiency in English.

Faraja
Here is Faraja: She is from the orphanage in Newland village. When she was only six years old her life took a significant turn during her first health care check that was arranged at the orphanage. It was here that she was diagnosed as HIV positive, having been born with the virus after her mother tragically passed away from AIDS. Before this moment, Faraja had never been tested for HIV and had not received any treatment.
After her diagnosis, Faraja started her daily medication to manage the virus and prioritize her health. With the unwavering support of her caregivers and community, she is learning to live with HIV, demonstrating incredible strength and resilience.
Faraja's journey highlights the importance of accessible health care checks of any child.
Emanuel
Emanuel was a one-year-old boy from Newland Village. In 2016, he fell seriously ill, and his family couldn’t afford the hospital treatment he needed. We stepped in to support his medical care and provide assistance to his family. After receiving treatment, Emanuel’s health improved significantly.
He is one of four siblings who all shared a single mattress in a small room, highlighting their challenging living conditions. Tragically, despite our ongoing support, their parents later abandoned them, and all four children were registered as orphans at the orphanage. Emanuel’s story emphasizes the vital role of community support, and we remain committed to helping him and his siblings as they adapt to their new lives. Today Emanuel is a vibrant and intelligent nine-year-old boy.
